Studio Calico October Kit Release

Hi there! This months Studio Calico kits and stamp sets are great! And so... I've got a lot to share with you. Today I bring you my cards from the Antiquary kit release.  I've put to use the Card Kit as well as the Athens, Vienna and Dublin add-ons

Let me share...
Pattern paper steals the show on this simple card.
A bit of paper piecing for the pumpkin and leaf, plus a pattern paper sentiment strip finishes this card off nicely.  Card Kit
This birthday card is made perfectly sweet with the addition of this stamped pear from the card kit stamp set.
A wooden button makes for the perfect final touch.  Card Kit
The pattern paper edge was softened a bit by stamping the small flower stem image repeatedly along the seam.
The stem and sentiment are from the Athens add on stamp set.  Athens Add On
A few leftover scrap pieces was all I needed to start this card.
A few nice touches like stamped flowers, a veneer star and a glittery badge was all I needed to finish it off.  AthensVienna and Dublin add-ons
A few haphazardly placed pattern paper edges give this cards corner a super fun look.
A lovely sentiment and glossy heart are the perfect finishing touches for this simple card. Vienna Add On

There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Boutique Borders: Thinking of You by Dawn McVey, Background Basics: Evergreens by Melissa Bickford and 'Tis the Season Sentiments by Me.
Packed a lot of new goodies onto this simple one layer card.  These images and color combo make for a sweet and simple card.
2013 Holiday Tags by Dawn McVey and Tag Sale #8 Die by Lizzie Jones.
This tag stamp set and tag sale die were a match made in heaven.  Love! Added a touch of color to the snowflake using an aqua and green Copic marker.
Rustic Wreath by Heather Nichols and 'Tis the Season Sentiments by Me.
Thinking this is my favorite card of mine created for this months release.  Simple, cute and colorful.
Polka Dot Parade #9 by Melissa Bickford and 'Tis the Season Sentiments by Me.
For a bit of shimmer, I've added a touch of POW gold glitter paper between the layers of the tree.  For added dimension, I've attached each layer with a combination of foam adhesive and flat adhesive.
Wonderful Words: Snow by Heather Nichols.
Snow, snow, snow... makes me think of the holiday movie classic White Christmas.

Well, that's all of them!

City Scene + 'Tis the Season Sentiments

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink October countdown and the second design team group post day. Today's group post is all about the new City Scene products. I've been longing for a set exactly like this for a very long time now.  Nichole couldn't have done it any better.  All I can say is I am so in love with this set and the potential it holds!  I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I do too.

Here's what I've got for you today...
First up, a Christmas theme.  Keeping with a neutral color combo, I stamped a small city scene in soft stone and smokey shadow.  Just a Tip: If your feeling that a little more color may be needed, I'm sure the buildings would look great stamped in aqua mist. But...
I just love how the single red word pops and stands out from the grey color scheme.  If your up for another step, a touch of glitter would be fun too!
To switch things up and to give you an idea of just how versatile this set truly is, here's a non-holiday version.
I was going for a nighttime skyline look here.  This empire state building looks wonderful all lit up with a touch of harvest gold ink.
This additional card gives you one last look at City Scene and also a look at my new set for the month... 'Tis the Season Sentiments.
This one-layer card was simply created by stamping a fun assortment of images from cities around the world, a play on the sentiment.  Love this color combo of limeade ice, ocean tides, pure poppy, smokey shadow and soft stone.

Well, that's all I've got for you today. Just remember...  the new City Scene products and 'Tis the Season Sentiments will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning October 15th

Come All Ye Faithful + 'Tis the Season Sentiments

Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink October countdown and the first Design Team group post!

Today's group post is all about showcasing the new Come All Ye Faithful collection of products.  And what an adorable and fun concept for a Holiday collection this is!  Erin Lincoln has everything covered and my mind is full of ideas.  The mix and match capability of this set is definitely a stampers dream!

Here's what I've cooked up for you today...
First up, a simple card that I made with Christmas in mind, but honestly I think it might actually work for other occasions throughout the year too.  I stamped the cute pup in smokey shadow and the sweater in ocean tides and enchanted evening.  I can't wait to play around with this color combo some more on holiday projects.
I pulled out my Grand Ampersand stamp set and die to create an ampersand to complete the sentiment.  Placed it alongside a few sentiment strips which were trimmed at an angle.
I just love one-layer cards for the holidays!  Here's one for you that features the same pup from above.  This time I stamped him in soft stone, ocean tides and limeade ice.
I stamped the strand of lights coming from the pups mouth as well as off of the sentiment.  I love the unexpected touch of the extra strand extending off the "Bright".  By the way, this cool sentiment is from the 'Tis the Season Sentiments set.  The black with ocean tides, limeade ice and pure poppy is another fun holiday color combo I look forward to working with again soon.

Well, that concludes my look at Come All Ye Faithful collection of productsJust remember... these stamp sets and coordinating dies will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning October 15th

Confetti Garland Borders + 'Tis the Season Sentiments

Hi there! Just popping in quickly for day three of the Papertrey Ink countdown and to share a few samples using two new sets... Confetti Garland Borders (designed by Nichole Heady) and 'Tis the Season Sentiments (designed by me).  Keep in mind that both of these sets, and the new dies I will be using too, will be available for purchase beginning October 15th at Papertrey Ink.

So, let me get right to it...
First up, I used the Confetti Garland Borders stamp set along with the coordinating dies.  Die cut the garlands from white cardstock, stamped the shapes first and then filled in with the polka dot connectors.  I chose to stamp in a very non traditional color... black.  The pop of color came via the aqua mist cardstock panel and pure poppy sentiment, from 'Tis the Season Sentiments.
I added a little bend when attaching the garlands and then finished the card off with a touch of black rhinestones.  My hubby says this card gives off a retro fifties vibe.  What do you think?!
Using the stamped images from Confetti Garland Borders stamp set, along with the new Stitching Lines Dies, I created a faux stitched garland look on this one-layer card.
I began by die cutting the stitching holes.  Then stamped the stars, hearts and circles in a color combo of  ocean tides, pure poppy and soft stone.  Stamped the solid line image across the holes to create the look of black thread and then finished the card off with a sentiment from 'Tis the Season Sentiments.  This one's got sort of a slight rustic vibe.
Lastly, yet another use for those versatile garland building images.  This time the snowflake images in a bit more traditional use.
I began by stamping one of the sentiments, included in the 'Tis the Season Sentiments set, three times to mimic the holiday song.  Randomly stamped the snowflakes in aqua mist and limeade ice and added a touch of glitter to the centers.  Then finished the card off with swirly snowflake paths, drawn by hand using a pencil.  I'd say this card gives off a more whimsical feel.

Well, that concludes today's look at Confetti Garland Borders and 'Tis the Season Sentiments. Just remember... these stamp sets and coordinating dies will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning October 15th. In the mean time, I'd love to know what you think, so please feel free to share!

Peace Be Still Revisited

Hey everyone! Thanks for joining me today for the October Papertrey Ink Senior DT Challenge. This time around we are bringing back Peace Be Still! It's been fun pulling out this set. Peace Be Still is a timeless set.  These traditional images suit many styles and today I stuck with clean and simple. No surprise there.  Ha!  With a little embossing I was able to assemble a quick, yet beautiful, card and tag set. I hope you enjoy them.

Take a look...
This set it definitely not too matchy-matchy. I was going for more of a gold and ocean tides, with a ton of neutrals theme.
This card is simple, but does not lack in detail.  It's idea for mass producing. Check out the heat embossed detail in the shot below.
Here's How:  I began by heat embossing the "Peace" in white, once cooled I layered the dove in ocean tides, stamped a few small snowflakes and finished the card off with a few gold dots.
This tag shines with just a little touch of gold embossing powder.
After the embossing, I finished the card off with sentiment strips trimmed in two.

Well, that's it from me today. Now be sure to visit the other Papertrey Ink senior design team girls for more Peace Be Still goodness...
Thanks for stopping by today!
